Next, in your science journal, copy each question and answer it. Last, answer the questions, numbering them in order, here. Remember the rules of our blog and answer with your number, not your name.

In the fruit and vegetable section at the Winn-Dixie grocery store in Naomi, Florida, the bananas are in bunches of three. There are six bunches of bananas on each of five shelves. How many bananas are there in all?
First, make sure you understand the problem. Discuss it with your group. In your math journal, explain how you solved the problem and what strategy you used. Be sure you write a number sentence to go with your answer. When all the members of your group have agreed on the answer, the person in your group whose number is the smallest even number will post it and your solution.

It takes Kate 4 minutes to walk to her grandma’s house, and 4 minutes to walk home. Kate walked to her grandma’s house every morning for 2 weeks to have breakfast with her, and then she walked home. How many minutes did Kate spend traveling to and from her grandma’s house during those 2 weeks?
